Good revision on best prescribing practice PCT advisors –what they do, how they help; Cost of some drugs Learnt about prescribing incentives - what money can be spent on Prices of meds quite interesting Involvement of prescribing advisors in general practice Expectations of prescribing in General Practice Practical ways of cost effective prescribing 1st choice prescribing drugs; Prescribing incentives e-PACT; Consideration of Cost-effectiveness Very helpful from a practice management perspective; Helpful also for after registrar year Useful info about when drug requested from secondary care and GP difficulties with prescribing Prices of drugs prescribed Things to think about and questions to ask before prescribing a drug |

What did you like least about the session? None A bit boring and didactic at beginning The slides of the first half of session Power point from Prescribing Advisor bit too long First presentation a little dry A wee bit didactic First talk helpful and informative but a bit overwhelming as to how all the audits and implementing changes/work load is achievable. Would have been good to have discussion about how it works out in practice and how you manage work load and time to achieve it all. |
