What did you learn from the session? Interesting to think of other ways to avoid referral. I liked some of the techniques used in the letters such as Johns “I have already told the patient that this may not be possible” London Migraine clinic A really useful session. I have never had any informal/formal teaching on the writing of referral letters which is a vital skill for a GP. Great to hear other’s referrals: things others found important, irrelevant etc. Interesting to think of things from person receiving letter perspective. Also useful to discuss how referral may have been avoided or different management/referral adopted. “Extreme weather conditions” prevented us from finishing off with a template but I felt I got some good ideas anyway. |
