Our take-home Learning points were:

§  In hyperthyroidism consider initiating carbimazole at 40mg (depending on TFTs)

§  For patients with PCOS (and other “at risk” groups) = GTT  (and in all patients with fasting glucose >5.5)

§  Check testosterone levels to rule out other diagnosis in patients with symptoms suggestive of PCOS

§  In oligomenorrhoiec patients – aim for a period at least every 2 months (progesterone or cocp induced)

§  Better understanding of titration of metformin

§  Rationale for dosing of hydrocortisone – useful!
